It is difficult to imagine anything more shameful than a prosecutor or police officer falsifying evidence or engaging in misconduct in an attempt to get a conviction which is likely to destroy a person's life, yet defence lawyers claim it is standard practice. This is an incomprehensible betrayal of our justice system, and the perpetrators should be prosecuted without any leniency.

Protection for prosecutors enable misconduct
There are protections in place for prosecutors who make mistakes which is probably reasonable, but these protections enable unethical prosecutors to egt away with misconduct.

The police claim they need to use these dirty tactics to combat criminals and that is a fair point. But the danger is that unscrupulous officers can weaponize the tactics to victimize innocent people.
On that basis, the police has to be above reproach, they must act with highest integrity at all times.
______
Prosecutor protections enable prosectorial misconduct and will result in innocent people going to prison. If you're happy for that to happen t you or a loved one then do nothin. It won't happen to a politiican because they ahve rigged the system in ther favour but it could happen to you or someone you love.

Investigating former NSW Crown Prosecutor Margaret Cuneen
It was reported that former Crown Prosecutor Margaret Cunneen told her son's girlfriend to 'start having chest pains' in a bid to delay a police breath test. Cuneen wasn't prosecuted because she claimed she was only 'joking'. If this accepted then a bank robber should also be able to claim that they were 'only joking' - which is absurd. Whoever made the decision not to prosecute her should be prosecuted.
NSW Police were ordered to pay Bill Spedding, a former suspect in the William Tyrrell investigation, almost $1.5 million in damages, after he was charged with historical child sex offences based on falsified evidence. The NSW police appealed the ruling and lost, Mr Spedding was awarded a further $300k. The police officers involved should be held to account along with whoever made the decision to use public money to defend the matter in court.
